They love me....and I love them!

We had a beautiful sunshiney Mother's day. Our sacrament meeting was all about Mothers and the kids that spoke did such a great job. We also handed out my caramel chocolate pretzels for all the future mothers and mothers in the congregation. (It'become a tradition at least while we're there serving). We had a yummy breakfast for Linger Longer and then we made a Dutch Oven dinner for our family to come over and enjoy. All in all it was a wonderful day. Thanks to all my family, especially AJ.

AJ wrote me a beautiful poem and gave me the book Becoming Celestial Soulmates that I'm excited to read.

Krin, Court and Elsie knowing how much I enjoy the show Jon and Kate Plus 8 got me one of their new books--Multiple Blessings. Thanks!

Cory, Tara, Carter & Ava gave me a new Cheese Grater, a Salad Dressing Mixer, and a Snowman and Mitten Cookie Cutters for when we make sugar cookies at Christmas Time. Thanks!

Megan, Tyler and Judson sent this to me Soap and a Wallflower Outlet and Fragrance Bulbs from Bath and Body Works and the best card - that meant so much to me since a lot of our relationship is talking on the phone now. Thanks!

Babysitting

Over the last four days we have had Carter and Ava staying with us, while Cory and Tara went back to Richmond, VA and Washington, D.C. They were good little sports to be separated for so long. Their parents left last Firday and the other grandparents took care of them until Monday afternoon. I think they had a pretty fun time. The first few pictures are of them eating chocolate pudding. Yummy. Then Krin and I took them all to the playground. Last few pictures are of them putting on dress-up clothes. Their parents flew home last night and got here around 9:30 pm. WE all were excited to see each other.

AJ's Birthday

Yesterday was AJ's birthday, now we're the same age for the next six months. We went to the Cheesecake Factory. It was really good, our waiter had such a great personality, the only complaint--it was freezing in there, the air conditioning was blowing full force. We had a great dinner and then we went home and all the family showed up for cake and ice cream. Happy Birthday, dear!

Trip To The Zoo

On Tuesday I went to the zoo with Tara, Carter, Ava, Krin and Elsie. It was really fun to go with them. It could have been a little warmer. We walked around and saw the different animals. Carter was so anxious to ride the train -- maybe we should have done that first. But we waited till right before we had lunch. It was a fun day.

Two Thumbs Up

I guess we did a good job babysitting!!!! Elsie loves Barney and so I was playing it before we went off to a wedding reception. She was sitting on AJ's lap and we came to the end where they're singing I love you, you love me...and she turned around a reached her arms up and gave Grandpa AJ a hug and puckered her lips for a kiss. She did the same thing the next morning while she was watching it. She ran into my den and reached up to hug me and give me a kiss.

Easter

We were able to celebrate Easter with most of our family. The sun came out and it turned out to be a very nice day. We had an easter egg hunt for the grandkids and then enjoyed a wonderful dinner that everyone contributed to. Tara tried a new salad recipe and it was so good and Krin brought the potatoes. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.

Relief Society Birthday Dinner & Elder's Etiquette Dinner

We had a great Lasagna Dinner to celebrate Relief Society's Birthday.

Our Elders lost to the Relief Society on their home teaching versus visiting teaching. So the Elders had to cook a dinner for the R.S. We had a guest speaker come and teach us about manners, proper etiquette. It was a very nice evening. The Elders did a good job.

Called to Serve......saying goodbye!

Our good friends Sherm and Sherry Margetts have been called to serve as Mission President in the Fukuoka, Japan Mission. They have been serving with us as first counselor in the Singles Ward. It's hard to say goodbye but we know that they are going to do such an awesome job in Japan. The missionaries and every one else they come in contact with will love them as much as we do. Last night was their last FHE with us so we enjoyed a yummy sloppy joe dinner, visiting and saying goodbye. Our ward conference is on Sunday so they will be getting released so they can prepare for their mission. Sherm served his mission in Japan over 35 years ago, so he has a lot of work to do to relearn the language. Sherry has to learn a prayer and her testimony in Japanese.

Grandpa...can we go to the Reindeer Store?

We heard that Carter wanted to go to the Reindeer Store. Since AJ had ordered some waders and they had come in and we needed to pick them up we took Carter with us. We saw them feed the bass. They feed them goldfish. Yuck. Then we walked around and looked at all the animals. We went upstairs to where they have target shooting. So you have to get tokens well, the 1 dollar bill that I had wouldn't work, I had a ten, but AJ gave it back to me. So he got frustrated and finally used a 20 and got twenty dollars worth of tokens. Then Carter was afraid to shoot and to small. By then Carter was hungry and wanted lunch so we drove to McDonalds however, on our way he fell asleep and we tried to wake him -- so we took him home with his Happy Meal. The End.
