My First 5k Run

Krin and Court's stake hosted a 5k on Saturday so I decided I was going to run in it. We got their right when they blew the horn, so I started after...it was great because I even passed some people along the way.
Krin, Court and Elsie rode their bikes and obviously got done before me.  Being my first time I didn't see the clock next to the finish line but I know I did it in around 30 minutes.  As I was running I came up to the 1 mile mark...kept going, going, going, until I rounded the corner and realized the Church was just ahead.  I never saw the two mile mark.  I kept thinking this was a long second mile.  Instead it was the finish. I never walked once.  Just kept a steady pace.

Christmas Stockings

I'm caught up.  This started back in 1952 when my Aunt Flossie made me and my sister our Christmas Stockings.  When I got married she passed the pattern, beads, sequins, etc. on to me.  I made AJ's stocking and one for my brother-in-law.  When I started having my babies, I made one for each of my children and when they got married I made one for their spouses.  So I asked my kids when they started having babies did they want me to make one for them.  So I have finally finished all of the the grandkids Christmas Stockings. I had made Elsies and Judsons a while ago. So for the last few months I been working on the rest of them.  This way they will have something to remember me by when I pass away.  When it's time to pass on the box of goodies  I think it will be Tara since she is the most craftiest in the family so the tradition will live on.  I was going to make some now for future babies because it is so hard on my eyes and fingers but I can't do that because it depends on whether its a girl or boy.

Myla's Baby Blessing

On Sunday, May 1st Tyler did a great job with blessing Myla Evelyn Williams, our seventh grandchild. All of our family was there and later we got together with both families and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Megan's and Tyler's home.

AJ's Birthday

On Friday we celebrated AJ's birthday by going out to Cheesecake Factory for dinner.  Then we had all the family come over for strawberry shortcake and sing Happy Birthday.  I love the birthday wreath that is made out of balloons.  I found how to make it on a website and think it will work great for celebrating the family birthday's we have each month.  Now we're the same age for 6 months. haha
