Temple Square

Last night our ward had our annual trip to Temple Square to enjoy the lights and then have Hot Chocolate and Donuts. It was such a nice evening, very warm which is unusual for this time of year.
I am so ready for Christmas - all the decorations are up, shopping done, gifts wrapped and under the tree. And now this week is for baking. I made over 100 pretzels yesterday, today is for caramels, licorice bites, and suckers. So I am READY. Just waiting for Megan, Tyler and Judson to come - so I'll be able to spend a lot of time with them and babysit for them.

OUR 30th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Thirty years ago today we were married in the Salt Lake Temple. It has been an amazing 30 years. Our journey included having three great kids; Cory, Krin and Megan. They are now married and so we have added to our family our daughter-in-law Tara, Court and Tyler our son-in-laws. And now we have 4 beautiful grandchildren: Carter (3), Ava (17 months), Elsie (14 months), and Judson (5 months). AJ is such a wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa. I love you so much.

Gardner Village

Last night Cory and Tara called and asked us to babysit. So we ended up taking Carter and Ava to Gardner Village. We knew Krin was home alone as Court and Elsie were in Malad til Sunday morning. So we went and picked her up. It was such a nice evening not cold at all. Carter loved seeing the Christmas lights on several of trees and of course a stop in the candy store.

Yesterday was my birthday. We all went out to dinner and then came back to our place for cake and ice cream. It was a nice evening. AJ kept with tradition in giving me a nice romantic card.(NOT) He likes to remind me that I'm older than him.

Let It Snow!!!!!!

Today we woke up to SNOW....Now I know a lot of you don't like the snow. I have always loved the snow. I love everything covered in white. I love watching it come down and I don't even mind being the one to shovel it. It was very wet snow -- so it was hard to shovel. It just makes everything so beautiful. I grew up in Oregon and we didn't get snow very often but when we did - I would go and play our piano and sing Let It Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow....and I thought it made it snow harder.

Bishopric Dinner

Last night we celebrated our 3 year anniversary of serving in the Mountain View 9th Ward. Each year we have gotten together and had a dinner marking each year we have been in the Singles Ward. We love working with these people. They serve well and it truly has been such an enjoyable calling. We love being in the singles ward and love working with these young adults. We enjoyed a great dinner at Sherm & Sherry's Country Club in Alpine. And to top it off we watched the last few minutes of the exciting BYU - CSU football game.

Date Night!

On Friday night the Stake Presidency had a date night for the Bishoprics in our stake. We had dinner in the Presidental Room at the Joseph Smith Building. We had to bring a wedding picture and then you had to guess everyones but they mainly wanted the year you were married. We also played a newlywed game. It was a nice evening.

Halloween Party....

Tonight Tara had her annual HALLOWEEN PARTY. And of course it was a costume party. This was the first time AJ has ever dressed up for Halloween and had an actual costume. As a little boy he only used a paper sack and put it over his head for trick or treating. We had Tara's delicious Chicken Chili. And we decorated Halloween Sugar Cookies and played Rock Band and ate yummy pretzels.

Pretzels...Anyone?

I decided to make my caramel chocolate covered pretzels today...for Tara's Halloween Costume Party this weekend. Sorry Meg and Tyler but I'll have some for you at Christmas time.

Productive Saturday

We had a very busy Saturday. We wrapped our Spearmint Junipers for the winter. Clipped off all our bushes and perennials for the winter. We hung our Christmas lights up on the house and the bushes. And then we babysat Ava while Cory took Carter to the U of U football game. She was so good and it was just fun to have her all to ourselves. She played in the family room and then we went to look for rock that we want for the backyard. Then we took the tramp down. We are ready for winter. Today was a beautiful warm fall day. It was just nice to work outside and get so much done.
