REMODELING

Now I am finally caught up and can tell you why I've been such a slacker in posting.  Over the last four months we have been remodeling our bathrooms and our kitchen.  So I will be posting some before and after pictures.  We still aren't totally done...but we are close.  We really need to thank AJ's cousin Greg Harper for doing all the tile work in the 3 of the 4 bathrooms, and Artisan Woodworks for the cabinetry. The first bathroom will be our half bathroom.  I chose an off-white cabinet that I love and so that led us having our kitchen oak cabinets painted to an off white/glaze and my island black with bead board.  Then we also took out our florescent light box in our kitchen and added can lights and pendants above my island.  When we got the quote he said it could be done in a week.  Well that turned into a month.  So glad we had a kitchen downstairs to use we basically lived in the basement over the last four months.

This first picture is actually after the cabinet got put in.  I was going to try and not paint, but I ended up having to paint.  So it is now a taupe color.
                                                                    Half Bath

Here is the new bathroom with granite countertop, framed mirror and now centered light fixture.

Love it! If you notice the cabinet has a drawer under the sink opening. That is why we went with these cabinet makers.  It's great for storage. And then you still have space under your sink.

Easter

I began Easter Sunday by teaching my primary class that the real reason we celebrate Easter is because Jesus Christ was resurrected and we will be resurrected one day.  In the April Ensign
President Monson said,  “I declare my personal witness that death has been conquered, victory over the tomb has been won. May the words made sacred by Him who fulfilled them become actual knowledge to all. Remember them. Cherish them. Honor them. He is risen.”  He teaches that because Jesus Christ died and was resurrected, we all will live again. I explained to my class that it is okay to do these other things, color eggs, easter egg hunt, candy etc. but that isn't really why we celebrate Easter we need to REMEMBER that Jesus Christ is our Savior.
We had a lovely Easter with our family. Our family joined us later in the day for an easter egg hunt. Then  Meg, Ty, Jud and Myla went and joined his family for dinner and then the rest of us had dinner.

March Birthday's

We celebrated all our March Birthdays on March 18th. Myla turned 1, Talon turned 2 and Tyler (we won't say). I hope they all enjoyed their birthdays.

Myla's First Birthday

On March 1, Myla turned ONE! We celebrated her birthday on Sunday the 4th.  She is such a cutie.
She  has been a really good baby.  And when AJ and I  babysat her and Judson  for several days she did a really good job of taking her naps and sleeping for me. She doesn't laugh very often.  She barely started walking when we tended for them.  But now she's doing very well.

THE BIRTHDAY GIRL

                                                         Singing Happy Birthday!

                                          Doesn't like touching her cake!
Elsie is showing her it's okay to eat it.

                                                          Opening her presents.

Grandchildren Sleepover

This sleepover actually happened right before the New Year.  I'm am finally going to post for 2012. Soon their will be future posts of what has been happening in our home the last four months.  But now back to the sleepover.  We had the four oldest come and spend the night.  Here they are with their sleeping bags all spread out in the family room downstairs.  We made snowman sugar cookies and watched movies and played bingo and other games.  It was a fun night.
